Biodiversity and Zero Deforestation Policy

KINIK Company recognizes the importance of biodiversity conservation and zero deforestation for protecting natural capital and promoting sustainable development. We are committed to taking action within our own operations and simultaneously advocating for participation from suppliers and all value chain partners with whom the Group conducts business. Together, we aim to reduce negative impacts on the ecological environment, prevent deforestation, and create positive value for environmental sustainability and biodiversity, in response to the impacts of climate change on ecosystems.

Scope

This policy applies to KINIK Company and its subsidiaries over which it has operational control.

Target

Achieve a Net Positive Impact (NPI) on biodiversity and No Gross Deforestation by 2050

Commitments

  1. Avoid establishing operational sites or conducting business activities in or near nationally or internationally important biodiversity areas or protected natural areas, and comply with international and local laws and regulations.
  2. Avoid activities that destroy or negatively impact protected forests and species.
  3. If our operations are located near key biodiversity areas, we will adopt the Mitigation Hierarchy, following the sequence of avoidance, minimization, restoration, and offset to reduce ecological impacts.
  4. Consider conducting a biodiversity risk assessment to analyze our value chain's dependency on and impact on natural resources in the future.
  5. Seek opportunities to collaborate with suppliers (or value chain partners) and external stakeholders to jointly support and implement biodiversity conservation, forest protection, and ecological preservation, and aim to achieve compensation through afforestation.
  6. Continue communication and consensus-building with suppliers and all value chain partners involved in business relationships with the Group, and gradually expand the scope of this policy, with the goal of full implementation in the future.
