OEM Coating Service of CVD Diamond Film on Milling Cutter/Drill/Router
1. Applications:
Milling cutter serves as one essential consumptive tool for manufacturing IC substrate like ”Printed Circuit Board (PCB)” and “Ball Grid Array (BGA) board”. In addition, applications in machining workpieces like graphite or copper electrodes were also well established.
For the industrial chain of milling cutters, Kinik Company acts as an “Original Equipment Manufacturer (OEM)”. What we provide is coating service of CVD diamond film on customer’s original milling cutter. With such a deposited layer, tool’s performance will significantly enhance.
　
2. Characteristics:
Milling cutter is usually made of tungsten carbide (WC). In comparison with this conventional material, CVD diamond has better physical properties. Kinik Company dedicates to the development of CVD diamond film for a long time. By means of our coating technology, several outstanding properties (see attached table) have been successfully integrated with customers’ original milling cutters. The machining quality is obviously improved and the corresponding cost is reduced.

3. Suggested specification of original milling cutter:
For the tungsten carbide milling cutter provided by customers, we suggest that “the grain size is about 0.6~3μm” and “the cobalt content is not more than 6%. This specification is only for reference because we provide customized service.
 
4. Microstructure:
SEM image (Fig. 1) points out, by means of Kinik’s coating service, one complete CVD diamond film was homogeneously deposited on original milling cutter.
 
5. Product appearance:
The appearance of CVD diamond milling cutter depends on the material’s feature provided by customers.
 
6. Contact window:
Kinik’s CVD coating process is available for products of every supplier. The original design and function remain unchanged.
